We have a skilled TEAM to provide physiotherapy for the following conditions -

Back and Neck Pain

These affect nearly everyone at some point in their lifetime. Most people make a full recovery only needing advice on how to prevent its recurrence.

Physiotherapy is very helpful if the pain is intense, going down the legs and lasts longer than a week, or, is preventing you from moving normally or standing straight. Our TEAM physiotherapist will assess the cause and location of the problem, and treat with specific specialized techniques/modalities. Once pain relief is achieved we will advise you on back care and appropriate exercise to prevent recurrence. We at TEAM believe in making our patients adept at doing the exercises independently and “correctly”.

Arthritis

No direct trauma related joint aches and pains, commonly referred to as “arthritis” is a part of the aging process. You can arrange an appointment with TEAM Physiotherapy services to resolve aches and pains resulting from an inflamed joint and learn specific exercises to delay the process of further deterioration.

Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder is a common condition in which the movements of the shoulder become restricted thereby making performance of activities of daily living difficult. It can be extremely painful and will not allow you to sleep on the affected side. Physiotherapy can help to reduce pain and stiffness through exercise, manipulation and stretches. TEAM physiotherapists are trained in effective manipulation techniques that have been proven to be beneficial through research.

Sciatica

Sciatica or sciatic pain is a pain that starts from the lower back and travels down the buttock/thigh/calf. It is pain caused by irritation of the nerve at its exit point from the spinal column, commonly as a result of a slipped disc. Sometimes it is simply irritated or inflamed. We at TEAM have effective modalities and specialized set of exercises for pain relief.

Shoulder Tendonitis

Due to the anatomy of our shoulder joint, muscles and ligaments around the joint play a very important role in maintaining its stability. These group of muscles are called rotator cuff muscles. These muscles are at a risk of injury due to overuse or trauma. This can result in a very painful shoulder especially when the arm is brought in certain positions. The shoulder may not be stiff like in frozen shoulder. This condition is known as shoulder tendonitis and can be treated by us.

Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow (Lateral epicondylitis) and Golfers elbow (Medical epicondylitis) are names given to the pain caused a result of overuse of the muscles in the forearm. Our TEAM is skilled to perform joint mobilization techniques which have been proven to be effective in reducing pain. We will also initiate a strengthening and stretching program to prevent recurrence.

Wrist Pain

The wrist consist of many small bones, that are held together by ligament and tendons. These structures can be injured in a sporting activity / direct trauma / through repetitive strain at work (RSI). We can treat your wrist complaint.

Heel Pain

The feet are the foundation of our body and so it is obvious that when the foundation has a problem everything else is thrown off- your knees, hips, spine. Heel pain can be very debilitating as it interferes with the basic activity of walking. One of the most common cause is “plantar fasciitis” which is inflammation of the connective tissue that runs from the bottom of the heel bone to the toes. Other causes are being overweight, standing for too long, wearing unsupportive hard soled footwear, feet arches are either too flat or high. Our TEAM will assess all aspects of your complaint and provide effective solutions for pain relief, stretching and strengthening exercises, advise on foot biomechanics and footwear.

Post Surgery Rehabilitation

The success of your surgery depends largely on what you do in the pre and post operative stages. Often you may continue to experience ongoing problems with stiffness, pain, swelling and inability to return to your regular routine with the limb if the post operative stage after orthopedic/spinal surgery is not managed carefully with the help of a physiotherapist. Contact us for more information for successful return to your routine post surgery.

Paralysis / Stroke

Stroke is a “brain attack” when the blood supply to the brain is cut off. It is a disabling condition which interferes with the normal functioning of the patient and his/her family. Recent research work shows that weakness after stroke/paralytic attack can be countered by “active” participation of the patient in their exercise program. TEAM physiotherapists have the expertise to deal with all the impairments that a paralytic attack can cause. We strive to assist the patient in gaining independence in activities of self care and community mobility.

Post Amputation Rehabilitation

Amputation is removal of a part or all of the body part by trauma or surgery. For amputees TEAM therapists can provide guidance for stump care, correct use of the prosthesis, reduction of phantom limb sensation/pain.

Vertigo

Vertigo is defined as illusion of movement, usually rotation/spinning sensation. The causes are varied and clinical presentation of each patient is different. For successful treatment of vertigo, correct diagnosis as to the cause of vertigo is very important. Physiotherapy plays a very important role in rehabilitation of patients with vertigo. There are special set of exercises that have been proven to be effective in treating vertigo. Contact our TEAM staff for more details of the program.

Children with Developmental Delays / Cerebral Palsy

At TEAM we have a special team of experienced caring therapists that are skilled in gross and fine motor skills training as well as sensory integration training. We work together with the parents to plan the treatment program.
